  1. Setting Up NetChronometer

  3. Setting up NetChronometer is quite straightforward.

  5. Establishing The Correct Time Zone
  6.  
  7. In order for NetChronometer to adjust your clock correctly, you must have your Macintosh's time zone properly set up.
  8.  
  9. 1)  Open the "Map" control panel.
  10. 2)  Type in the name of the closest large city in your time zone, and click on the "Find" button.
  11. 3)  If it finds the city, click on the "Set" button to save it.
  12. 4)  Open the "Date & Time" control panel.
  13. 5)  Click on the "Set Time Zone..." button.
  14. 6)  Choose a large city in the same time zone as you, and click "OK".
  15. 7)  Make sure the "Daylight Saving Time" checkbox is in the appropriate state for your locale.

  50. If this box is unchecked, NetChronometer won't connect to a network time server.

  54. You can specify which time server on the internet to use.  The Popup menu to the right contains a list of network time servers.  You can choose one of these, or type in your own.

  56. You should try and pick a network time server close to you.  This will help to minimize any propogation delays across the internet.

  60. NetChronometer will not try to automatically connect.  You can use the "Connect Now" button to connect manually.

  62. Check when NetChronometer launched

  64. NetChronometer will try connecting to the time server when you launch it.  You have the option of having NetChronometer quit when it's done checking.

  66. Check Periodically

  68. If you desire, you can have NetChronometer connect to a network time server periodically.  You specify the interval, in hours.

  72. Shows the status of the connection.

  74. Connect Now

  76. If you click on this button, NetChronometer will connect to the specified network time server and synchronize the clock on your Macintosh to the time server.
